On the 13 mile walk from Invinverarman to Tyndrum we encountered the Highlands for the first time and began to see some of the Munros (Scottish mountains above 3000.)
The path crossed several times under rail lines through "cow creeps" -- short underpasses we had to duck through to pass beneath the tracks. There were sections of green forestry and also areas that had been messily cut down and left with desolate stumps. Fortunately, these were soon left behind.
It was nice to see the landscape open up into vastness.
In Tyndrum we paused too long over a restaurant supper and missed our bus back to Crianlarich. But two train tracks serve the town, so we were able to catch a train ride back to Hillview B&B where our very convivial hosts entertained us with talk and song and some very nice Glenlivet.
