WHW Day 7

Our final day was another long one. Including walking back and forth through Fort William, we covered 16 miles. But we experienced some great views from within the mountain glens and finished with enticing glimpses of Ben Nevis, at 4400 feet the tallest peak in Great Britain.

Looking back down at the loch, there is still climbing to do.

Surprisingly, we did not encounter a lot of Scottish Thistle on our trail but there was never a lack of Scottish rocks.

Ben Nevis hangs ahead, but fortunately our path will bend around to the left before aiming down towards Fort William.

This bronze hiker tending his feet meets WHW hikers in Fort William. My feet were doing fine, fortunately.

The Myrtle Bank Guest House across from the promenade along the loch in Fort William was one of our nicer accommodations.

Ben Nevis looms its massiveness above Fort William.

Our 70 miles walking along the West Highland Way were unforgettable, right up there with the Hillwalk Tours hike around the Ring of Kerry we took in 2023. Scotland is a wonderful destination for walkers.
